Unfortunately 2021 Season is canceled but save the date for our next season in June 26th 2022!

We have been so happy to see such a huge group of people express interest in the excavations at Megiddo and the prospect of digging this summer. The global situation has been a challenge for everyone, and we were cautiously optimistic that we would all be together in 2021 on the tell!

However, after much deliberation, we must make the hard decision to cancel our excavation plans for June-July 2021. Although Israel is almost fully back to normal, it is now mid-May and the Government has still not set a date for allowing individual vaccinated foreign tourists to enter the country. This is a critical factor for our team members living all over the world. Many are hopeful that this date will be in the coming months, but without official news about this, it is impossible for us to commit to our vendor contracts and set up our operations.

The Megiddo Expedition is proud of our strong excavation program, our educational course offerings, and our professional staff, and putting together an expedition at this high level requires a minimum amount of advance time. We simply won’t be able to undertake this work given the ongoing uncertainty of international tourist entry to Israel.

We are so grateful for your enthusiasm about Megiddo, which we share! We hope you will all stay in touch! You can always find us on our website or on Facebook and Instagram

Once we all are clear of the pandemic challenges, we will be very happy to see you all at Megiddo, ready for a great excavation season next summer! See you all on June 26th, 2022!
